Frequently Asked Question for the Tornado Industrial Ventilator
FAQ
How does it work?
The design of the Tornado enables the ventilator to be activated by natural convection from the inside of the building and allows it to be assisted by the wind outside. Wind creates a flow of air through the throat of the Tornado to enhance extraction.
What makes your product different from the competitors?
Our products are designed with a larger dome (rotor) with enhanced and optimized vanes to improve performance. The openings between the vanes are larger to ensure superior extraction capacity. The ventilators have been tested and certified by an accredited testing laboratory in South Africa.
The Tornado range of ventilators have been successfully installed in high wind areas (Cape Town -South Africa) for more than 25 years. Our quality of our products (ISO) and professional backup service is our pride and ensure our continuous relationship to keep our clients satisfied.
What temperature drop can be expected?
The quantity ventilators are calculated as per the application and environment of the specific building. The ventilator creates airflow within the building by extracting rising heat. This action results in a cooling effect which is determent by the ambient temperature, inside temperature and the amount of air changes per hour within the building. On average a 10% temperature difference has been achieved. The Tornado range of ventilators have been successfully installed in high wind areas (Cape Town -South Africa) for more than 25 years. Our quality of our products (ISO) and professional backup service is our pride and ensure our continuous relationship to keep our clients satisfied.
What is air changes per hour?
It is the total volume of air inside a building that is replaced with fresh air from outside the building.
Will the Tornado roof ventilator operate without wind?
Yes, the Tornado ventilator is designed to operate by means of convection (rising heat). The upwards movement of heat forces the ventilator to rotate and results in extraction. The warmer the inside temperature the better the extraction.
Is the ventilator waterproof?
Yes, the design of the rotating dome and the curve of the vanes (blades) ensures that the ventilator does not allow rainwater to enter.
